The African films should be family friendly films and where Christain people in Nigeria and people living out the country who love Jesus can watch the films. Most producer will make money if their films are family freindly and also where christain people can also watch the films. There are lots of families and christain people out there. So producers if you are wise look at the market in African before you film. One more important thing God will bless your project if it bring people forward, sex in film are bad, very bad take it out and make more profit in your film productions. There are lots of christain out there and lots of families out there who want to see good story line films with no sex in it. I am writing from Germany. God bless Nigeria in Jesus Christ Name Amen.

Sure some stories can be told without sex scenes but sometimes they do something for a film, depending on the story, that might not otherwise be achievable. I take it when you guys say sex scenes you include violent acts of rape, incest and the like. If I am watching a story about someone whose life was drastically influenced by such an event, I'm sorry but it makes a difference whether I see that event or not. It is pivotal. Sure you can show a woman about to be raped by a man and then cut to the next scene in an effort to please your viewers' sensitive sensibilities, but then you would have failed to be true to the telling of that story in whole. Show me the scene, its poignancy, its violence, that's what will imprint it in my mind, that's what will make the difference in my gaining insight into a character's choices thereafter. There are different genres of film with different ratings. If you wish to see a film with no sex at all, it follows then that you have to choose the appropriately rated film. To say, however, that because we are Christians or whatever religion you wish to invoke, then all writers, all directors, all films should be created with that in mind is a dangerous thing, it is stifling. We are no longer in the days when the only theater acceptable was that propositioned by some king or queen and so had to be scripted to please them. FILM IS ART or let me rephrase that, a tentative balance of art and business, because at the end of the day, money has to be made. It serves many purposes. It should be entertaining, hopefully. It can be educational, doesn't have to be. It can be based on real events, not necessarily. It can be realistic, but people shouldn't always expect it to be, many of the best films are the result of the vivid imaginations of innovative writers. What matters is that, even if the subject is beyond the scope of the audience, there is something human in it all, something that allows them to relate. I could go on and on. What bothers me is indulgent sex scene after sex scene where the only purpose is the shock value it provides. That to me verges on soft p**n, especially if the core story being told is sacrificed because of it. I wish folks could see what goes into making a sex scene for film, it is the most unsexy experience you would have.

African story shouldn't involve that r*****h, for we Nigerians we are very culture minded people, we regard our dignity a lot, if they try it, it won't sell in Nigerian because our society frowns at such and regards it as dirty, and we're conscious of how we raise our kids, nobody wants to be watching p**nography with his children. I don't know about other cultures.
