If this comment is from Mr.Edochie, the I will say he is not an actor. he has along being deceiving himself, Nigerian and the industry.An actor need not be from any tribe to a role well.Americans over the years have acted as Pharaohs,Gladiators even as Aliens. This statement goes along way to show how unprofessional these people that parade themselves as actors are. If he has loose relevance in the industry,he should go and open a shop in Upper Iweka road,at least dat is "Igbo". No insult intended.

As for Olu Jacobs, he is not fit to act as an Igbo or as an Igbo king. The reasons being he does not possess any attributes or experience as far as Igbo goes. PERIOD.

What a s****d way of defending some1. Not free is right. Pete is simply not a good actor as we all thought he was. If Olu Jacod is not Igbo, so what? firstly, why i will disagree with Pete is just because we are one and u guys in the industry there can act any role as far as the actor acts well and is acceptable. secondly, we all know that when one act, the person doesnt need to come from a particular tribe but the ability for the actor or actress to wear wat ever role he or she is asked to perform well. More to that we ve some actors and atresses that are from one tribe or the other that perform a particular role in a tribe that is nt theirs and they do it well . Example is MERCY IGBE, THIS actress act yoruba movies well even more than yoruba actresses themselves.

I wish I knew why Igbo hate the Yoruba so much. The Hausa can wake up one morning, kill thousands of Igbo, loot their shops with impunity,but the Yoruba will respect the Igbo, accomondate them, give them titles in his home land, yet they will never stop hauling hatred at us. I read an old article where Pete under interview was asked why he loved to play 'Igwe' in movies, and he replied by asking the interviewer whether any producer or director would see the man he was and still ask him to play any common role. And I was so staggeringly diappointed at this blazonry of illusion of grandeur. Any true actor is not lead by compass of self glorification. You can play the role of a gate man and still earn more than the man interpreting the role of president. It is all about passion and business, not some s****d ego! A truly big man is not kidnapped and released for a pittance of one million naira(Below $10.000).

Why are you guy fighting over nothing. Acting has to do with Skills and Cultural Heritage. All actors can act different scenes in different ways. Some are better than some in different act. You can play the role of an armed robber very well and might not be able to play the role of a pastor. Both Pete and Olu are very good actors but because of the fact that Acting has to do with skills and Heritage, playing the role of an Igwe will be easier for a good Ibo actor than Olu and vise visa. Just the way Rugged man cannot play Tupac and Obama and not play OBJ. I know Pete would not say that just the way it written or he might not mean it the way you guys are taking it. You are taking this too far. Remember, this life is a personal race and not tribal race. There are very snobish and arrogant Ibo men just the way there are Yoruba men that has the same bad character. Well , i totaly disagree cuz the the name of the game is acting and what makes a good actor is his ability to interpret any role. Look at forest withiker, an American who played idi amin in the last king of Scotland. He is not from Uganda but he played a Ugandan dictstor and he played it well. Where I think Olu Jacob is not 100% fit to play the role of Igbo Igwe is on his pronunciations when it comes to pronoucing igbo names and proverbs. Including the Igbo dances and inbuilt culture. But Olu Jacob is a professional actor.

personally, i think d reporter who conducted d interview may hav taken d words out of context...yes olu jacobs mispronounces sm of d igbo names, which should nt b 4 a king. in as much as he is a professional actor, this is where cheap n mediocre movie production comes into play. in nollywood, we shoot a production in less than 1month, while our european counterparts can spend close to a year shootin d same movie. they take adequate time to get into their roles so their performance will be a 100%. nollywood should learn to do so as well so that thgs like this will no longer be an issue.
