Christ I love
Is the one so keen, affable and palpable
Who preached love, and not money
Who saw money, but didn't touch it
Who was eager to have welcomed death
And not eager for 'One-Tenth'
Who healed the sick quietly
And not for cheap publicity
Who died for mankind
And not the poor to be ostracised
Who was born in sheep's den
And not in the best hospitals
Who loves man even at the point of death
And not blasphemy against man's fate
That's the Christ I love
And not the advertisement of 'churcheous Christ'
For Christ is the head of the church
And not man, whose preaching is contrary, religion.
