CHIDI MOKEME

Chidi Mokeme popularly called GQ back in those days because of his impeccable dress sense is still very much in the picture in Nollywood. The Anambra state born actor and anchorperson of the first Gulder Ultimate Search, ventured into business which made him leave the movie scenes for some time. But he categorically disclosed to Akudo Abengowe in this interview that he is back to stay in Nollywood. Chidi who had been romantically linked to other women including ex senator Florence Ita Giwa also divulged his plans for marriage and so forth…..

Chidi seems to be a regular face in every event happening nowadays, is there some meaning to it?

No, I only go to events which I am invited for, so if I have been regular at every major event that simply means that I was invited to all of them.

We are curious, what exactly do you do for a living right now?

I am a businessman, I have my hands in a lot of things. What I do is I look out for lucrative businesses and I invest in them and make my money.

How is the sex toys business going?

It is doing well, I've got a lot of mature and classy clientele and of course I protect their privacy. Most of them often requests for delivery and we do exactly as they wish, the business is doing well.

What exactly made you venture into sex toys business?

I noticed that it is an area most people shy away from, but then any relationship where the partners involved do not have sexual satisfaction suffers a lot of crisis. In addition, sex or lovemaking is supposed to be dynamic, but most people are timid about it, or prefers to pretend they enjoy the normal sex routine meanwhile deep inside of them they are dying to explore other options and get adventurous. So I decided to open up a shop where sex toys are sold so that people can explore their sexuality.

Ini Edo has done her debut movie production, what do you think of it?

I think she's quite creative and courageous to have produced a movie during her short stay in Nollywood, and from what I've heard of the story line, it's a good one. I'm looking forward to watching the movie tonight.

You have been scarce in movies recently, what could be your reason for that?

Well, the reason is that I'm a very busy man, I needed to take time out to make some other investments in my life. Secondly, the movie industry was shaky then and I wasn't pleased with what was happening.
