COURT ADJOURNS AGN`S CASE
Indications that the raging battle between impeached President of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ejike Asiegbu and some executives of the new administration is far from over, emerged when the case filed by the erstwhile president was adjourned at the Magistrate's Court, Igbosere, yesterday. The presiding judge, Justice (Mrs.) Omisore, who said the case is a civil one and not criminal, asked the counsels of both parties if there had been efforts to settle the matter out of court.
But since the counsels told the court that there was no move to settle the before the court, the judge opted for adjournment. The executives that Ejike filed the case against are Ifeanyi Dike, Remy Ohajianya, Hakeem Rahman and Emma Ogugua. Nollywood Reel gathered that the allegation levelled against the current Interim National President of the guild, Hakeem Rahman by Ejike, was that of “breach of peace,” while he accused Ifeanyi Dike and Emma Ogugua of amending the guild's constitution.
Meanwhile, some actors that spoke with NollywoodReel on conditions of anonymity, said that the time has come for all stakeholders in the make-believe industry to intervene in the matter.
“We are tired of this issue of going to court and all that. I think this is the right time for all stakeholders to come together and find a lasting solution to this issue,” an actor enthused.
