ACTOR J.T WEST BEGINS FINAL JOURNEY HOME

The burial arrangements for the departed actor J.T Tom West, has been announced by the family and Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Tom West died on Thursday, September 20, in a ghastly motor accident along Lekki-Ajah Expressway.

On Tuesday, a candle light procession was held for the actor by the guild led by its president Ejike Asiegbu. The procession took off from Winnis Hotel, Surulere, Lagos and ended at the National Stadium, also in Surulere.

On Saturday, October 14, there would be a wake at New Horizon Hotel, Adeniran Ogunsanya that will be followed by Christian Wake keep at National Theatre on October 19. And finally, on October 20, late J.T. Tom West will be buried at a place to be announced later by the family.

Asiegbu said the death of West is a lesson for everyone to learn and so, "everyone should live each day of our lives as if it were our last."

The actors' body president debunked the claim in a national newspaper (not The Guardian) that Tom West was shot dead over a land dispute in Ajah, Lagos State. He noted that the false report threw the family members of the deceased as well as the Actors Guild of Nigeria into confusion.

He also urged media houses not to make false reports as it may lead to commotion.

Younger brother to the deceased, Mr. Chris West, said he was still in shock. He also confirmed that J.T. Tom West did not die as a result of land tussle but he died while in active service, on his way from location along Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
