Stella’s Widow Hits Movie Market Soon
Nollywood's celebrated widow, Stella Damasus-Aboderin is set to release her movie, 'Widow' to the movie market soon. According to sources, acclaimed producers Kingsley Ogoro has left no stone unturned in a bid to release the pseudo autobiographical movie after its premiere in Lagos.
It was gathered that since her husband died on December 3, 2004, the actress cum singer who may have suffered a battered image still has tremendous goodwill within and outside Nigeria's showbiz industry.
Already companies such as Virgin Nigeria, Ulzee, Digitrack, Dannies Bridal, Top Shot and other companies have thrown their weight behind the premiere scheduled for Sunday July 30, 2006 at Planet One Entertainment Ikeja Lagos.
Also drawing support for the success of the movie include, come back singer cum actor, Segun Arinze a.k.a Black Arrow, Styl Plus, Sunny Neji Angelica, Basket Mouth and Sammy Okposo, among others.
The Entertainment world gathered that the movie believed to have been shot in Stella's early days of widowhood centers around how widows are maltreated in Africa. According to our source, the movie's story line is as refreshing as it is controversial, the plot impeccable and the actors especially Stella at their best.
Though not a real life story, the movie is bound to raise some dust, not just because it parades Nigeria's most controversial widow as lead actress, but also because many may interpret the scenes as Stella's real experience.
The fictitious documentation might thus appear unfair to Stella's real in-laws, the Aboderines. However, sources close to the influential family have maintained that the family will in no way interfere with the premiere and eventual release of the movie.
Ogoro himself has recently denied speculations that the Aboderins were getting a court injunction to stop the movie.
