EMMANUEL GABARI - RECIPIENT OF INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE

Emmanuel Gabari a radio and television broadcaster living in Kano Northern Nigeria and also a reporter with Nollywoodgists.com is one of the recipients of the prestigious International Ambassador for Peace Award organised by the Global Peace Festival on Saturday 19th June, 2010 at the ECOWAS SECRETARIAT, Asokoro, Abuja Nigeria. It had as its theme: “The Role of Education in Building a Culture of Peace.”

The Ambassadors for Peace Initiative is a global network that honours achievement of leaders from various sectors of the society that are dedicated to building a world of peace, a world in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, co-operation and co-prosperity.

Also, Nigeria has been selected to host the Global Peace Festival in 2010. The Global Peace Festival (GPF) is a series of international activities that promotes and celebrates persons and programs that contribute to reconciliation, mutual respect, harmony and cooperation among various ethnic, racial, political, and religious groups. It inspires peace centered on the unifying vision of “One Family Under God.” An interfaith experience, the Global Peace Festival celebrates the core principles, values, and dreams that can bind people together. GPF promotes a culture of service rooted in the spirit of "living for the sake of others.

Speaking to media men in Abuja Nigeria after the awards, Emmanuel Gabari who is also a Media Consultant and a Social Worker, thanked the organizers and said he is elated to be one of the awardees. In his words: “I have always been in the fore front of preaching peace on both my radio and television programs that I produce and present, during community development programs, empowering young people, attending conferences and seminars on peace building and doing a lot of step down trainings for others to benefit. I am grateful to God Almighty for this great award and I thank everyone who has been of tremendous inspiration and source of encouragement to me. Also, to my wife and kids who have shown me love and understanding even when am always travelling to cover/attend programs. Finally, I dedicate this award to everyone who is in the dark tunnel of life. Stay alive, stay focused, God will surely will make a way for you someday. I celebrate you all.”
