IK Osakioduwa Cites Principles For Stepping Down As AMVCA Host
Nigerian media personality IK Osakioduwa has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to host the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards due to his personal principles against endorsing alcoholic and tobacco brands.
Osakioduwa, who has been a regular fixture at the awards, explained that he did not believe he was destined to host this year’s edition. He stated that he strongly believes in divine timing and purpose regarding where he is called to be.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Morayo Afolabi-Brown show, IK, who has been hosting the show since its inception in 2013, affirmed that Africa Magic remains his first love in the media industry, he described their relationship as mutual and cordial, noting there was no fallout between them.
However, he clarified that his decision was based on certain principles that clashed with the requirements of this particular edition.
According to IK, he does not endorse alcoholic or tobacco brands, hence he would not have been able to serve properly or effectively deliver what the organisers needed.
