Nollywood veteran actor Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, has weighed in on the conversation surrounding Nollywood producers casting individuals with public fame over talented actors.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Selah Meditate podcast, the comic actor stated that no matter the level of hype and social media fame, talent is undisputed.

According to him, talented actors are rare and dignified, hence social media personalities cannot take their place or jobs.

He said:
“I don’t think social-media fame is replacing real talent. It can’t. There is no way social media-fame can replace real talent."

Several Nollywood actors have recently complained about the trend of producers having a strong preference for casting actors with social media fame over talented actors.
