Asherkine Berates Poor State Of Nigeria's Economy, Admonishes Citizens To Prepare To Vote In The Coming Elections
Social media personality and philanthropist Akinyemi Oluwaseun Omotayo, popularly known as Asherkine, has expressed deep concern over the state of insecurity and economic hardship that has plagued Nigeria.
In a tweet on his X handle, he slammed the government for making citizens suffer until they are exhausted to keep complaining and naturally adapt to whatever is being thrown at them.
According to him, several individuals are holding onto 'hope' that the country will get better, when in reality, it is just a psychological trap.
He maintained that the feasible option to tackle the issues plaguing the country is by exercising one's right to vote. He acknowledged how uninspiring many individuals are about voting, however, he stressed that neglecting their civic right only brings more hardship.
He wrote on X:
"Once again, this system is designed to keep us sulking to deaf ears until we mentally check out & accept to adapt, our parents did it & now it’s us.
What a lot of us are holding onto is just ‘HOPE’ that Nigeria will be better. HOPE that becomes a psychological trap.
The easiest practical action we can take to enforce a different Nigeria is exercising our civic duty to vote, being part of the action!
Sometime in this whole distress, you’ll want to sit this election out and I think that’s really where the design wins. You can have a say in this thing!
bro, I’m really so tired at this atmosphere of despair where we’re not able to enjoy a single thing. the air is just heavy, the tone of our conversations so dull.
I don’t feel a sense of purpose in these times, everyday I’m looking for a way to spark joy & i believe that’s the system defeating us because we do not exercise the power we have to fight back.
The time is drawing nearer and I’ll keep trying to remind you to GET YOUR PVC. you cannot claim your stake in the future without that card, your HOPE is an absolute false sense of progression without that card so please i beg you to start here ;

In another post on his Instagram page, Asherkine admitted that the state of the country has left him considering relocation, especially with the poor state of living.
He revealed that he no longer feels a sense of purpose; however, he urged Nigerians to channel their frustration right by getting their permanent voters' card and get set to vote in the upcoming elections.
He wrote:
" i'm gonna be honest , i've NEVER ever nursed the thoughts of relocating until this year, the quality of life we're experiencing is worsening by the day.
I no longer feel a sense of purpose and i know exactly why.
I'm genuinely tired but i swear we're not tired / angry enough.
you know how i know? you don't have your PVC.
i'll leave the link in my bio so you can get started."
