"Be Kind In This Space" – Kunle Remi Admonishes Colleagues And Fans On Responsible Use Of Social Media

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has advised his colleagues and fans on the importance of using social media responsibly, especially during the tough period plaguing the nation.

In a candid Instagram post, he admitted to considering closing down his Instagram page, linking it to the incessant bad news, toxicity and negativity that has now been the new norm.

Explaining the reason behind not taking that decision yet, the father of one shared that he has transformed into more than an actor— to a brand, a storyteller, an influencer and a light-bearer.

He emphasized that amid the recent issues, it is important to show kindness, spread light, and be a beacon of hope to others.

He wrote:
"Low key... I’ve felt like shutting out Instagram lately.

It’s exhausting waking up and almost being afraid to log in…

afraid of the heartbreaking news, the disrespect, the toxicity, the negativity.

It can be draining.
"But the truth is... I can’t fully log out.
"Some people can step away from social media and disappear for a while.

But for me, I evolved into more than just an actor.

I became a brand, a storyteller, an influencer... a light-bearer in my own way.

"And every now and then, I remind myself that I still have humor to share, love to give, stories to tell, and light to shine especially in dark times like these.

Honestly, these days you almost have to pray before opening the app.

"So maybe this is just a gentle reminder: -
If all you can do today is shine light... please do.

Be kind in this space.
Be soft where the world is hard.
Be hope where there is noise.
We need it now more than ever.
In many ways... it’s our job."
