Ilebaye's Father Shares Revelation Into Reasons For Physical Assault On Daughter

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Odiniya Emmanuel Godson, the father of Big Brother Naija all stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has made a jarring revelation, regarding the recent physical assault carried out by him against his daughter.

In a widely circulated voice note seemingly from Mr. Emmanuel, shared on Facebook on Sunday by Kogi-based journalist, Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme, he appreciated Nigerians for their concern over his recent family ruckus.

Setting the records straight on some of the reasons behind his family's brouhaha, Ilebaye's father disclosed that he was responsible for her getting into the show in 2023, explaining that he leveraged his connections with powerful individuals to ensure that she qualified for the show, and also voted massively to secure her win.

He, however, mentioned that upon her victory from the reality show, she outrightly changed and refused to see him, despite booking over 5 appointments with her.

According to him, she was also physically violent against him, financially neglected him, and adopted several bad habits which regularly caused their fights.

He stressed that he was sternly against her cosmetic procedures, however, she went against his order to undergo the process.

Mr Emmanuel also claimed that their recent issue which made it to social media was first incited by her, before her retaliated.

Lamenting further, he accused Ilebaye of influencing her brother with drugs, eventually leading to his expulsion from school.

He also added that despite her shortcomings, he still loves her as a father, and would always accept her as his daughter.

"I am Odiniya Emmanuel Godson, the father of Ilebaye Odiniya.

“I want to really thank my fellow Nigerians and Nigerians all over the world for what was on the internet about my daughter, both good and bad.

“I really want to appreciate you, but I want to put the record straight that what led to that was not that I don’t love my daughter. She was one of my best children and, if we take records from days gone by, you can note that she attended the best schools, which shows I really love my daughter.

“But at a certain time, she wanted to join Big Brother.

“When she told me, I accepted it and I began working towards it. At a certain time, she failed the first one and was evicted. Then the second one in 2023 or thereabout, I contributed a lot, using my relationship with Nigerians within and outside the country to vote massively for my daughter.

“My personal contribution there is over 75 percent, but when she successfully came out of that and won, what I was expecting from her wasn’t forthcoming.

“For instance, where I come from, if you have a child, you can’t wait until the child spoils to a certain level before you can correct him or her. Ilebaye couldn’t listen to me anymore each time."

"After she came out and won, she changed. Ilebaye stopped listening to me. I would book her appointments five to six times in a week and she wouldn’t give me audience. She stopped regarding me as her father.

"I warned her against getting cosmetic surgery — face reconstruction with fillers and BBL. She’s too young for that.

"In this recent incident, she insulted me, hit me first with a sea hanger, causing bleeding, pushed me, and then broke an electric lantern on my head

"She has also influenced her younger brother with drugs, and he was expelled from school because of it. She once advised me to divorce her mother."
