Nigerian singer and actor Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, and his actress wife, Adesua Etomi, have shared insights into their challenges before deciding to get married.

In a recent interview with media personality, Teju Babyface, Banky W disclosed that he had tried his best to convince Adesua to become his wife, however, she wasn't moved, which frustrated him.

He stated that her reluctance made him tired, leaving him to put everything in God's hands, while stating that He should inform her if He wanted them to be together.

Banky W, however, recounted how things changed during a phone call with Adesua, as she affirmed that he is her husband, which made him happy. He shared how he had known the actress for over a year, patiently waiting for her positive response to his marriage request.

"I was like, I’m not talking to her again. Maybe because of all the hearts I have broken, God has now sent somebody to break my heart.

I went to God and said, ‘I feel like this is my wife, but she can’t see it. If you want us together, go and tell her.

I vowed that if she didn’t come to that conclusion herself, I would not bring it up again."

Adesua said: “Banky, you know you’re my husband, right?”

Banky W responded: “I’ve known for a year and a half, I’ve just been waiting for you to catch up."

On her own part, Adesua noted that their marriage is set to clock 10 years in October. She also disclosed that she and her husband hold each other's hands and sleep with their feet touching each other.

According to her, before marriage, she prayed against marrying a musician, a pastor or a politician, however, God surprised her with the three qualities.

"This year, in October, our marriage will be 10 years, and we still hold each other’s hands together unconsciously all the time; we sleep together with our feet touching each other. Before I met my husband, I told God I didn’t want to marry a musician, a pastor or a politician, but God gave me all three."
