Burna Boy's Mum, Bose Ogulu Throws Weight Behind Son Labelled As "Arrogant"

Bose Ogulu, the mother of Afrobeats star Burna Boy, has thrown her weight behind her son, amid the claims that he is arrogant.

Bose Ogulu, in a recent interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, was quizzed about the perception of the public about her son's attitude, particularly how he is labeled as "arrogant."

Reacting to it, she maintained that she cares less about the perception of the public, maintaining that they are free to put tags based on what they feel; however, the only thing that matters is self worth.

Ogulu stressed that she cannot apologize for what people think about her and her son, noting how all they are displaying is self preservation in a world that wants to weigh them down.

Ebuka asked: “do you mind that Burna Boy is seen as arrogant? Do you mind that you are seen as arrogant with the way you run Burna brand?"

She responded: “I don’t mind honestly, I don’t mind at all. I mean any adjective they want to attach to you is ok. The thing is who are you? If knowing your worth and carrying yourself as such is arrogant, then it is a good thing. And I can’t apologize for that. Because I think we were born into a world where we were expected to put our heads down.

“First is the color of your skin, the color of your passport, for me, my gender. So, I don’t understand the concept of that life. I understand that if I know something, I know it and I expect you to realise that I know it. And if you don’t realize that I know it, then, put me to the test."

Recall that Burna Boy recently came under immense scrutiny and criticisms following his widely publicized altercation with Wizkid's Disc Jockey, DJ Tunez.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that the viral incident gained traction on the popular microblogging platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), as a video emerged showing both Burna Boy and DJ Tunez exchanging punches at the residence of nightlifer and businessman, Obi Cubana AKA Obi's Palace, in Lagos.
