Nigerian dancer Kafayat Oluwatosin Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has heaped praises on Nollywood box-office queen Funke Akindele, and media personality, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, in commemoration of the International Women's Day, today's, March 8.

The Guinness World record holder on her Instagram page, shared photos of herself with the duo at the just concluded Wema Bank IWD.

Describing them as remarkable women, Kaffy particularly praised Funke for continuing to push boundaries in a previously dominated male industry. According to her, Akindele has consistently used her craft to break records, set standards, and showcase that authenticity and audacity can coexist in the movie industry.

She also hailed Morayo Afolabi-Brown for being a strong and steady voice in the media and journalism space, noting how she has consistently held her ground, and created space for conversations that shape public discourse.

Kaffy explained that her reason for celebrating the duo goes beyond their achievements, but for their courage to succeed despite the issues and pressures that come with visibility and leadership.

She wrote:
"I had the pleasure of listening to two remarkable women in conversation; Funke Akindele @funkejenifaakindele and Morayo Brown @morayobrown, and it was such a powerful moment to witness.

Funke is someone I hold with deep respect. Over the years, I have watched her continue to push boundaries in an industry that was once heavily male-dominated. Through her work, her boldness, and her unwavering commitment to her craft, she has helped reshape the landscape of African storytelling and cinema distribution. She has proven time and time again that excellence has no ceiling — breaking records, raising standards, and reminding the industry that authenticity and audacity can coexist.

Morayo Brown, on the other hand, has remained a strong and steady voice in media and journalism. She has held her ground with grace and intelligence, creating space for meaningful conversations and perspectives that continue to shape public discourse.

Watching the fireside chat between these two women was inspiring, not just because of their achievements, but also because of the strength, resilience, and authenticity they both bring to their journeys.

Celebrating women like this is important not just for their accomplishments, but for the courage it takes to stay the course despite the storms that come with visibility and leadership.

Giving these incredible women their flowers today.
Well done, sisters.
