Nigeria's number 1 bleach brand, Hypo Bleach, has issued an official statement to address the misuse of its product, following the viral incident involving Nigerian influencers, Mukoro Michelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, and self-acclaimed activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

In a post on Instagram, the company clarified that "Hypo is not for drinking," adding that "hypo is not a drink, It is not something to consume for the sake of trends."

Addressing the recent viral posts displaying hypo as a drink or beverage, the company maintained that "those images are fabricated, that framing is false." They also reiterated that their product should not be consumed for trends, stressing that it poses great risk to lives.

The company further admonished influencers, bloggers, and content creators to focus on amplifying positive things, not substances that are not for public consumption.

They also urged the public to prioritize their mental health, urging them to get professional help once they find issues affecting their wellbeing or those around them.

Recall that King Mitchy was recently involved in a social media spat with activist VeryDarkMan. Following the backlash she faced from the fans of VDM, she resorted to drinking hypo during a Tiktok live session.

Hours later, her management announced the news of her alleged demise, revealing that she suffered a critical condition before giving up the ghost at Prime Care Hospital, Abuja.

Issuing a disclaimer, Prime Care Hospital management described the information as "false," clarifying that she was never a patient in their hospital, nor did she pass on in their facility.
