Actor Ijebu Urges Police To Arrest King Mitchy Over Hypo Incident
Nollywood actor Tayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has called on the Nigeria police to see to the arrest of philanthropist, King Mitchy.
Recall that King Mitchy was recently involved in a social media spat with activist VeryDarkMan.
Following the backlash she faced from the fans of VDM, she resorted to drinking hypo during a Tiktok live session.
Hours later, her management announced the news of her alleged demise, revealing that she suffered a critical condition before giving up the ghost at Prime Care Hospital, Abuja.
Issuing a disclaimer, Prime Care Hospital management described the information as "false," clarifying that she was never a patient in their hospital, neither did she pass on in their facility.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with King Mitchy's Tiktok live incident, Ijebu in a viral Instagram video called on the police to take control of social media and monitor the usage, particularly because of the minors who have access to it.
Commenting on King Mitchy's decision to drink hypo, he bemoaned the ripple effect, stressing that many individuals who accessed the video, particularly Gen Z's would consider such action as an option, due to watching a role model involving in the act.
He maintained that the police should henceforth ensure to arrest whoever comes online to announce their decision to commit suicide.
He said:
"Good morning everyone, I want to pass this message to everybody, especially to our police. I’m begging the police in charge of social media, that are monitoring the use of social media that we have children between age 10 and 21 that have access to social media. I don’t know when hypo that is meant to bleach toilet, clothes or used to clean our house turned to a drink all in the name of I want to end all, I want to commit suicide, I’m depressed.
“So, if someone is now depressed, the solution is to take their life. I’m urging the police to start the arrest of anyone attempting to commit suicide because all this Gen z has a lot of followers. They are supposed to be a role model not bad influence. Please I’m begging the police to arrest anyone that comes online all in the name of I want to end it all. She was seen during the Tiktok live drinking hypo in presence of her associates."
