Late Nollywood actress, Ajara Lasisi, professionally known as Aunty Ajara, has been laid to rest, following her death on Thursday.

The late actress who gave up the ghost on Thursday, was eventually laid to rest on the same day, according to Islamic rites.

In videos and photos of the burial ceremony making the rounds, the actress was laid to rest in the presence of mourning family members, some colleagues, and residents of her community.

The burial was graced by the deceased's relatives, and some Nollywood colleagues, who honoured the memory of the late actress.

The Nigerian Voice reported on Thursday that Aunty Ajara had given up the ghost. Her demise was made public by her colleague, Tobi Oladdele Teemony, on his Instagram page on Thursday.

In his caption, he revealed that Aunty Ajara gave up the ghost overnight, following a "long and courageous battle with illness."

He also stated that before her death, she was a beneficiary of immense love, prayers, and financial assistance from several individuals across the world. He appreciated everyone who showed up for her during her battle with illness.

The Yoruba actor further urged the public to refrain from sending money to the previously shared account, because it is of no use.
