Fave Bemoans Challenges Of Hosting A Show During Ramadan
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, popularly known as Fave, has shared her struggle with hosting a show in Nigeria to commemorate her birthday. The "contolla" crooner, via the popular microblogging platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, revealed that she has been trying to put plans in place to host a show during Ramadan, however, it has been facing restrictions.
“So I was tryna do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused.
In a follow-up post, Fave revealed that since the beginning of the year, she has been on the move to host her first show as an independent artiste in Nigeria, on her birthday on March 13, but promoters have been rebuffing the offer.
She further stressed that she had never been aware of Ramadan practice until she got to her late teens. She also emphasized her readiness to go ahead with the show, calling on interested individuals to join her.
"I started this year wanting to do my first show in Nigeria on my birthday as an independent artiste and back to back, promoters kept sending word to my team saying the same thing. “I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so if you’re reading this and are open to organize, I’d be so happy.”
