Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable was arraigned on Monday at the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, over several criminal charges.

In a statement issued by Ogun State Police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the singer's charges ranges from assault, theft, causing harm and resisting arrest. The singer was accused of assaulting his babymama Ashabi Simple, along with police officers and other individuals, at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo on New Year’s Day.

Furthermore, according to the prosecution, the 'Zazuu' crooner is also accused of theft of a Mercedes-Benz E300, valued at N12 million, belonging to Ileyemi and purchased from Wally Dex Auto.

During the court proceedings, his babymama's siblings testified as witnesses to the assault, while Ashabi was absent from the court.

Pressing further charges, the police accused the singer of obstruction and assault of Ogungbe Olayemi, a female police inspector, during the discharge of her official duties.

Having listened to the several complaints against Portable, the presiding judge denied the singer bail, stating that it was due to the absence of the alleged assaulted police officer, adding that only her presence could open up the possibility of a bail.

Following the hearing, Portable is set to remain in custody, with a new bail hearing date scheduled for January 19, 2026.
