Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has penned an emotional note to her late mum, as they hold a service of songs in her memory, today.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Mercy Aigbe announced the passing of her mum, Abisola Grace Owodunni on Wednesday, September 24. She shared a candlelight on her Instagram page with crying emojis, while wishing her late mum to rest in peace.
She had also announced November 29th as the date for the burial ceremony.
Mercy Aigbe, via her Instagram page on Thursday, shared photos of herself and her late mother, stating that today is heavy for her, noting how tomorrow will be heavier as they lay her mum to rest.
She reminisced on her mum's life, stating that she was full of memories, gratitude, and love, adding that she was a blessing, a quiet light, and a gentle light.
Penning a farewell message to her, the movie star urged the deceased to rest well, promising to carry her light forever.
She wrote:
"Today is heavy.
Tomorrow will be even heavier as we lay her to rest.
But I trust God to give us the strength to walk through this.
As we hold your service of songs today, Mommy, my heart is full...
Full of memories, full of gratitude, full of love.
You were a blessing, a quiet light, a gentle guide.
Seeing you with your grandchildren reminds me how deeply you loved and how beautifully you lived.
Rest well, my angel. We will carry your light forever
