"They Don't Value My Talent, But My Body" - Tiwa Savage Bemoans How Male Executives Have Tried To Sleep With Her
Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has expressed her displeasure with the sex-for shows that has been rampaging the entertainment industry.
The award-winning singer made this revelation while speaking in a panel organised by Entertainment Week Africa, she shared her personal experience on how she was instructed to see a particular chairman personally, if she wanted to get booked for a show.
She further cited an instance of how she lost an endorsement because of her refusal to go to Dubai with one of the owners of the company.
Tiwa Savage revealed that this not-so-pleasant experiences brought her to the sad realization that her body is more valued than her talent.
She said:
“I had been told that if I don’t go and see ‘this chairman’ personally, I would not be put on a show. I lost an endorsement because I refused to go to Dubai with a man who is one of the owners of the company.
“That was when I realised that they don’t value my talent but my body, which I was only flaunting as part of branding. It ended up hurting me because that is all they were seeing."
