Terrorism: Iyabo Ojo Calls For Government's Immediate Intervention

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has called on the Nigerian government to put more focus on the issue of terrorism plaguing the country.

Recall that in a viral video, suspected bandits attacked a Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, Kwara State on Tuesday.

This has led to many Nigerians, including celebrities calling out the Nigerian government over the widespread cases of terrorism across the country.

Adding her voice, Iyabo Ojo, in a recent Instagram post on Wednesday, called for immediate action from the government over the increasing cases of violence, abductions, and terrorism in Nigeria.

According to her, the government should take immediate measures to treat the ongoing crisis as an emergency. She further suggested several beneficial steps that the government can take to tackle the insurgency.

She wrote:
"#EndTerrorismInNigeria
We are calling for immediate action to address the ongoing violence, abductions, and terrorism in Nigeria. The recent attack on CAC, Aruku Ekiti, LGA, Kwara State, and the abduction of 25 young girls are stark reminders of the Chibok girls' tragedy and the urgent need for change.

Enough is Enough
We urge the government to treat this as an emergency and take concrete steps to:

- Investigate and address internal security breaches within the military

- Increase security measures to protect citizens
Seek external or international assistance if necessary

Suspend and arrest any personnel suspected of supporting terrorism within the military, police, or intelligence forces

- Arrest anyone supposing terrorist and bandits
Equip our military with modern weapons, gadgets, vehicles, and medical supplies

- Mobilize our air force to take decisive action against terrorists

- Authorize the military to take bold action, prioritizing strikes against terrorist targets

- Focus on action, not just promises
We must stand together against injustice and demand an end to these atrocities. Our military has the capacity to act; it's time for them to step up and protect our nation. Let's unite in demanding justice and peace for Nigeria.

#EndTerrorismInNigeria."
