Popular Nollywood actress Dakore Akande, is celebrating her birthday today, October 14.

The award-winning movie star, via her Instagram page, shared photos of herself to commemorate her special day.

According to her, today is a day she pauses in order to honour the journey of the woman she has been, and the one she is still becoming.

Dakore noted that she is 47, yet she's not chasing perfection, but rather embracing presence, and learning to honour every version of herself that has brought her up to this point.

She further emphasized that she is still becoming, noting how that is the greatest gift. she wished herself a happy birthday and expressed gratitude to her Maker.

She wrote:
"Today, I pause to honour the journey - the woman I've been, and the one I'm still becoming.

At 47, I'm not chasing perfection. I'm embracing presence.

I'm learning to honour every version of myself that's brought me here the dreamer, the artist, the mother, the woman still blooming.

I'm still becoming... and that, to me, is the greatest gift of all. Happy birthday to me and ALL glory be to GOD."
