Popular Nigerian evangelist, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, is dead.

The news of the renowned evangelist's death was made public through a statement from his family on Monday.

Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai gave up the ghost on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the age of 80.

In a statement issued by his family, he was described as a faithful soldier of the cross who dedicated his life to spreading the gospel with passion and integrity.

The statement read:
"He was a faithful soldier of the cross who devoted his life to spreading the gospel with passion and integrity.

“His teachings, prophetic insights, and mentorship have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire believers for years to come."

Several religious leaders and gospel singers have taken to their respective social media pages to mourn the death of the late evangelist.
