Popular celebrity blogger Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, better known as Tunde Ednut, has made a strong observation about the incoming 2026 tax reforms.

The blogger, via his Instagram page, noted how everyone is chilling, stating that people should watch out for January when everyone would be taxed in their numerous bank accounts.

He stated that he can't wait to see the drama that will ensue when the collection of tax begins.

Making a side note, he wondered how a country that doesn't provide for its citizens wants to tax those who are still struggling.

He wrote:
"Everyone is just chilling.
Wait for January first when they will start taking huge taxes from your (every Nigerian) bank accounts.

I can't wait to see the drama that will unfold when they finally start collecting taxes from everyone.

Imagine a country that doesn't provide anything for its citizens, yet still wants to tax people who are struggling just to eat."

Recall that President Bola Tinubu signed four new tax reform acts into law in June 2025, with many key provisions taking effect in January 2026.
