Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called for the release of controversial self-acclaimed activist, VeryDarkMan.

‎The Nigerian Voice reported on Friday, that popular human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, via his X handle, announced the arrest of VeryDarkMan by the police at GTB.

‎Deji Adeyanju further released a preliminary statement on Friday evening, which clarified that VeryDarkMan was in the custody of the EFCC in Abuja.

‎Taking to his X handle, Davido noted that he is proud of the fact that the good being shown to the public is appreciated - inferring to the support shown towards VeryDarkMan since his arrest.

‎He further called for the release of the self-acclaimed activist.

‎Davido wrote on X:
‎"Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging, makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
