Grammys Award: Tems Beats Davido, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, And Asake To Clinch Best African Music Performance Award
Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has clinched the category of the Best African Music Performance awards at the 67th Grammys on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025.
Tems waded off competition from her African compatriots: Davido, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake to clinch the award.
Tems’ hit song ‘Love Me Jeje’ emerged victorious over “Tomorrow” (Yemi Alade); “MMS” (Asake & Wizkid); “Sensational” (Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay); and “Higher” (Burna Boy).
“Love Me Jeje”, a sample of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 song of the same title, has received critical acclaim from global music buffs following its release last April.
