I Had To Learn Yoruba For My Role In Seven Doors - Chioma Chukwuka
Popular Nollywood actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, has opened up on how she had to learn Yoruba language for her role in Netflix recently released series, Seven Doors.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Femi Adebayo released his widely anticipated series 'Seven Doors' on streaming giant Netflix, on Friday, 13th December, 2024.
In the trending series, Chioma Chukwuka played the role of an Igbo queen to her husband, Femi Adebayo.
In a recent interview with TVC alongside Femi Adebayo, the actress revealed that she had to learn Yoruba in order to carry out her role in the movie. She further stated that she had to go all out in learning the Yoruba used in the movie because it was not the regular kind of Yoruba spoken in Lagos State.
She said:
"I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors. The Yoruba in the movie was not the regular one spoken in Lagos State, so I had to be very particular about the tone.”
