Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has claimed that cannabis, best known as weed, is not a hard drug.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Morning Hustle podcast, Davido, while discussing plans to donate to orphanages and the fight against drug abuse, revealed that he is being labelled a hypocrite because he smokes weed, and he wants to join the fight against drug abuse.

He claimed that he does not consider weed as a hard drug in the slightest form, hence the reason he still smokes it.

Davido said:
"This year, I’m donating to the fight against drug abuse among youths. I don’t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I don’t count weed as a drug.

“A lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit.”
