Monogamous Marriage Is Not Working In Africa - Okey Bakassi
Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, better known as Okey Bakassi, has argued that monogamous marriages are not working in Africa.
Okey Bakassi made this claim on the Honest Bunch Podcast, he claimed that polygamy is best suited for Africans.
He argued that many people advocate for monogamy, which means one man and one woman, but in reality, many people are not following it; he explained that polygamy is now indirectly rampant in Africa, and Africans should embrace it.
He said:
"Forget all the lip services that we pay to polygamy here. I still think that polygamy is the best form of marriage for Africa. Monogamy is not working.
“We are pretending. Now, what’s the difference between polygamy and monogamy? Polygamy says you can marry two people at the same time. Monogamy says you cannot marry them at the same time, you have to let one go. What if you don’t want to let one go?”
