Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has sued the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the National Assembly, NASS, with a lawsuit of N1.2bn, over allegedly violation of his rights.

Refreshing your memory, The Nigerian Voice recalls that VeryDarkMan released an audio recording of the cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky on September 24, 2024. The recording alleged that Bobrisky paid the sum of 15 million Naira to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the money laundering charges to be dropped against him.

Furthermore, the recording suggested that Bobrisky did not spend his six-months prison term in prison, but in an apartment close to the prison through the influence of his godfather and the controller general of prison.

In addition, the leaked recording by VeryDarkMan also alleged that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, SAN, collected the sum of 10 million Naira to get Bobrisky a soft landing on his prison sentence and also get him a presidential pardon

The 15 million saga saw Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan appear before the National Assembly, who probed into the allegations levelled against the cross-dresser.

In a recent development, Bobrisky via his Instagram page on Saturday, posted a court file dated October 10, which carried an order restricting the EFCC and National Assembly from harassing, detaining, or declaring him wanted.

According to the lawsuit, Bobrisky accused the EFCC of placing him under investigation over an ordinary Whatsapp phone call leaked by VeryDarkMan. He further noted that lack of proper investigation on the part of the EFCC on the phone call released by VeryDarkMan, subjected him to public ridicule and online harassment.

Bobrisky, in the lawsuit, has charged the EFCC with the sum of N200 million for the trauma he went through, while the National Assembly is charged with the sum of N1billion

A part of the letter reads:
“The sum of one billion against the 1st respondent being damages for unlawful attempt to violate the right to fair hearing of the applicant, violate his right from discrimination, violate his right to private and family life, right to privacy of his home and telephone conversations.

The sum of two hundred million naira against the 2nd respondent being damages suffered, psychotically trauma, mental torture and criminal stigmatisation caused by the reckless report given by the 2nd respondent to the 1st respondent without any proper investigation and fair hearing stating that the doctored social media published audio by VeryDarkMan was true, having not carried out any formal and proper investigation by contacting WhatsApp and laying before the committee that the hearsay doctored evidence was confirmed to be true and authentic.

"The violation of the right of freedom of movement, right to privacy of his telecommunication."
