By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular Nigerian singer and YBNL signee, Adedamola Adefolahan, best known as Fireboy, has heaped praises on his colleague and label mate, Ahmed Ololade, best known as Asake

The "Peru" crooner revealed that Asake is a tremendous talent, and he showcased it during their collaboration on their 2022 hit song "Bandana."

He eulogised Asake’s talent and energy. He revealed that Asake recorded his verse on their 2022 collaborative hit song ‘Bandana’ in a tour bus.

He disclosed in an interview with Ebro, Fireboy stated that the reasons for the success of the song was down to their shared relationship of music. He explained that they were both undergraduates at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, and had the same struggle together.

“Our record label [YBNL] boss, Olamide, advised me to feature Asake on ‘Bandana.’ We sent it to him. He recorded that song on his tour bus. It was quick. The energy was insane,” he said.

“Asake is someone I’ve known since way back. We went to the same university. He has a very crazy personality.

“He’s a born star. We had that synergy from way back in school. We had similar struggles. We went through almost the same journey,”
