Speed Darlington Regains Freedom On Bail
Controversial singer, Darlington Okoye, best known as Speed Darlington AKA Akpi, has been released on bail from police custody.
Recall that the news of Speed Darlington's arrest was confirmed by activist and human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. He revealed that Speed Darlington was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force on Friday in Lagos, before being transferred to Abuja prison.
Deji Adeyanju explained that the controversial singer was arrested due to a complaint lodged by Burna Boy on the grounds of cyberstalking and defamation, alluding to the video of Speed Darlington insinuating that Burna Boy was involved with embattled American rapper, Diddy.
However, Deji Adeyanju has now confirmed that the singer has now been released on bail, after fulfilling all the necessary conditions.
He made this known on his X handle:
“Special appreciation to #YeleSowore, super reliable senior lawyer #stanalieke, and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington. Must also appreciate Prof Sanusi and his team at IRT for their professionalism today."
