The winner of Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has explained the main reason for deleting her X account.

Recall that Chidimma was subjected to numerous criticisms over her identity by South Africans during her participation at the Miss South Africa pageantry which eventually made her pull out of the competition.

It got so severe that the South Africa Department of Home Affairs, DHA, revealed that evidence suggests Chidimma’s mother committed fraud and identity theft.

Following her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa pageantry, Chidimma was admitted into the Miss Universe Nigeria pageantry which she won recently.

In a chat with Arise 360, Chidimma opened up on the impact of the negative comments she was subjected to and how it made her delete her X account due to her mental health.

She explained that she had no choice than to delete her X account, as she was an avid reader of people's comments and the negative comments were getting to her badly.

She said:
“I had to delete it because I felt like it was too much for me. I’m a comment reader so I read each and every comment; that’s the thing. So for me, I could spend 80% of my day reading comments.

”I’d read the comments and all and it became toxic for me. I use Instagram but I did limit my comment section one time."
