Mr Macaroni Drops Advise Amidst Toyin Abraham And X User's Ruckus
The popular microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter, has been on fire due to Toyin Abraham’s arrest of an X influencer, Big Ayo for defamation and cyberbullying.
Recall that The Nigerian Voice had reported that Toyin Abraham was insulted by X influencer, Big Ayo. He claimed that she supported President Tinubu, who in turn gave her money for her husband's hair transplant.
Toyin Abraham, who has been constantly criticized on social media over her decision to support President Tinubu did not spare anything, as she ordered for the arrest of the X influencer, Big Ayo, which has caused more drama online, as many have criticized her for using her influence to arrest the influencer.
Weighing in on the online ruckus, Mr Macaroni, has taken it upon himself to drop series of tweets which advised others against defamation or cyberbullying and also advising celebrities to take such cases to court instead of arresting the person.
He tweeted;
“Again, as I have always preached, it is highly condemnable to attack, harass or bully others for their political choices. And I strongly believe that whosoever is guilty of such should face the consequences of their actions.
But due process should be followed.
Don’t let the police illegally detain or torture anyone on your account. The law is clear on these things. There is a stipulated period for which you can hold an accused.
Don’t deny them access to their lawyers.
Don’t detain their family or friends.
In summary, don’t do any injustice while seeking justice.
I say this because it is a dangerous trend.
And I say this not for now alone but for the future.
I say this also not just because of whatever is going on right now but in general.
We have seen powerful people pick up whoever they want to and lock them up for as long as they like.
This must not be encouraged.
Conclusively, let us all be civil in our engagements online and offline and treat everyone with respect and dignity.
Peace 🙏🏾❤️.”
