There Is Nothing Wrong With Nigerian Women: Daniel Regha Airs View On Gospel Minister's Marriage

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

The trend of popular Nigerian gospel musician's getting engaged to women from other countries has led to various comments and issues on social media. The latest one which shocked the internet was Minister Theophilus Sunday who got engaged to his Jamaican fiancee, Ashley White.

In light of this, many people have begun terming the actions of Gospel Minister's getting engaged to women from other countries as a result of the attitude of Nigerian women. Many have criticized Nigerian women as responsible for Gospel Minister's decision to get engaged to foreign women.

However, popular social media critic and celebrity tormentor, Daniel Regha has aired his view on the issue of Gospel Minister's getting engaged to women from other countries. He strongly stated that it has no meaning and is based on the preference of the man.

He took to the popular microblogging platform X formerly known as Twitter to air his view.

He said; “Theophilus Sunday marrying a non-Nigerian isn't a big deal, same with Moses Bliss; It doesn't mean there's something wrong with Nigerian Christian ladies or our women in general. Many Nigerian women have married foreigners, including non-Africans, but we celebrate their interracial marriages with no questions asked. So enough with the s!lly agenda, it's po!ntless.”

The critic further advised and admonished many by saying; “Again, the only couple u should look up to when it comes to marriage are ur parents; If theirs have ended or didn't work out, look up to ur relatives & friends. Stop using people's online love to set ur standards, theirs might be a contract marriage or simply for the camera to maintain a good public image.”
