Salako Tressure, a100 level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has reportedly taken her own life by herself after days of wallowing in depression.

The report reaching the internet disclosed that Salako who was an entrepreneur student at OAU committed suicide in an uncompleted building where her corpse was found.

Her corpse was found at Lagere area on Wednesday evening June 14, 2023.

The cause of her death was revealed by Salako's friend. According to her friend, Salako was overwhelmed by emotional distress. They claimed that they had preached to her countless times to make peace with her self.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju said:

“It is very unfortunate that we had lost a part one student, a promising young lady to what was alleged to be s***ide.

Although it happened outside campus, we are not happy that we could lose such a person under such circumstances, the university under the administration of Vice-chancellor Professor Simeon Bamire is pained that a student of that tender age could resolve to such thing."
