Burnaboy Breaks Silence After Davido Calls Him A New Cat
Burnaboy, a talented Afrobeat singer and a Grammy Award winner has finally broken his silence over the issue of the demeaning remark his colleague, Davido made about him.
Recall that recently, a video surfaced online where singer Davido was seen speaking at an interview about his ground on the music industry.
In the interview, The Nigerian Voice highlighted how Davido ignored Burnaboy, Olamide and several other top Nigerian artistes and acknowledged Wizkid and himself as the only pathfinder of Nigeria Afrobeat music.
In the light of the interview, Davido put Burnaboy in the same category as Asake, Fireboy, Rema, Mayorkun, etc. He did this by referring to them as new cats.
His words read:
"Everybody knows, I was one of the first with Wizkid. It feels good seeing that name and new cards coming up. Just like Burnaboy, Rema, Fireboy, and Mayokun killing it now."
This ignited massive reactions on social media as music lovers expressed different opinions on it.
However, Burnaboy finally broke silence in respect to the viral video of Davido calling him a new cat.
In response, Burnaboy ignored Davido and spoke about his passionate desire to grow and achieve his dreams. He also expressed appreciation to his fans in London for their love for him.
Burnaboy wrote; “Uniting people from all walks of life has always been my dream. “London, thank you for making it possible for me at my biggest show to date! Shout out to my family @theuglygram @santandave @popcaanmusic and Stormzy. We’re Leaving An Impact For Eternity. “Love, Damini.”
