Congratulations! Seun Kuti Is Granted A Bail
Popular Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, and the son of the pioneer of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti has been finally bailed out by the chief magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state.
The bail of the singer was coupled with the professional job or appeal from a renowned Lawyer in Nigeria, Femi Falana.
The singer who got a bail on Tuesday, May 16 was charged for an offence bordering on a disrespect to authority.
Recall that Seun Kuti’s car was halted on Third Mainland Bridge and he was eventually detained for Assaulting a police officer.
However, in defence, Seun Kuti claimed that he acted the way he did because the police officer he question threatened his life and his family.
Following his bail, the court has directed police to investigate the alleged attack on an officer within 48 hours.
But the defence counsel, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), begged the court not to remand his client.
