Nollywood actress and politician, Funke Akindele, has come out to disclose why she has been staying silent on social media following her defeat in the February election.

Recall that in the last general election, Funke Akindele, was a running mate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Jandol.

The result of the election announced Sanwo-Olu as the winner after he polled a total of 762134, votes to defeat his closest Labour Party, LP, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Dr. Olajide Adediran of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP. LP. polled 312329 votes while PDP. 62449 votes

A few days after losing the elections, Funke Akindele deleted all her posts related to her political career. After she lost the elections, Funke also avoided the bird app, Twitter.

However, in a recent engagement on Twitter, a social media posted on Funke's wall and inquired about her absence from the app following her recent return.

The fan wrote;
“Madam Funke, I site you… Longest time.. you run away from us abi wot happen?”

Funke Akindele responded that her silence has been because of the unkind attitude of Twitter users.

Funke responded;
“Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”
