Tiwa Savage, a popular Nigerian singer, confirmed that she escaped from a security breach at her residence that was widely reported online as a kidnap attempt.

Her management team issued a statement on her behalf through her Instagram handle, confirming that on April 13, 2023, a major security breach occurred at her residence. A number of suspects were apprehended and are presently under investigation at Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, while Tiwa Savage and her family are safe and unharmed.

The singer's new driver was alleged to have provided information about her movement to his co-conspirators, according to reports published by several media outlets that quoted self-acclaimed investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo. However, all individuals involved in the attempted kidnap have been apprehended and handed over to the police.
