Tems Bags First Grammy Award
Popular Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi professionally known as Tems, has been crowned a Grammy winner in the just concluded Grammy Award ceremony.
Tems who came to limelight after her remarkable performance in the song "Essence" by Wikid becomes the first Nigerian female singer to win Grammy award.
On Sunday the 65th Grammy award event was hosted at Los Angeles Arena. Singer Tems who had bagged 3 nominations at the Grammy awards won a Grammy award in the 'Best Melodic Rap Performance' category for her vocal and writing contribution on the hit 'Wait For U' by Future featuring Drake.
Others nominated for the category won by Tems included DJ Khaled Featuring Future & SZA (Beautiful); Jack Harlow (First Class); Kendrick Lamar Featuring Blxst & Amanda Reifer (Die Hard) and Latto – Big Energy (Live).
