Nigerian actress, Nse Ipke-Etim has made a shocking revelation of the reason why she ventured into acting.

She said she was escaping early marriage.
In an interview with Inkblot, the actress narrated how she had run away from her home to an unknown destination but bumped into a movie shoot that began her acting career in 1996.

“So I got on a bus and instead of going to Satellite Town, where we lived at the time, I went the other way towards Badagry, because I wanted to run away. Then, in some village along that road, I saw cameras. So I jumped down and that was the first time I met Kate Henshaw. That was 1996 when I graduated,” she said.

The actress further narrated that she approached the movie team where she met some famous faces in the industry then; Julius Agwu, Francis Agwu, and others.

She said the team was shooting a movie entitled “Scars of Womanhood”.

Upon getting closer to them, she introduced herself to them as a graduate of Theatre Arts after which she landed a role with fellow Nollywood star Kate Henshaw.

“I got down from the bus and I told them I read Theatre Arts. They said oh okay, she (Kate Henshaw) needs a friend. I met her (Kate) and we formed a bond that has lasted till tomorrow,” she added.

The 47-year-old actress further recalled that she got back home after about two weeks to her angry mother who disagreed with her being an actress, insisting on marriage.
