Don Jazzy Praises Funke Akindele Over COVID- 19 Sentence
Don Jazzy has praised actress Funke Akindele for making a mistake and accepting her guilt.
According to the Nigerian music icon, she has gained his respect with that.
Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz, were sentenced to a 14-day community service and fined N100, 000 each for defying social gathering directives to hold a house party. The party was for her husband amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Funke broke her silence for the first time after her sentence, saying the past weeks of her life have been a learning curve.
Don Jazzy, who is the CEO Mavins Records, described her as a courageous person.
“I have always admired your talent and hard work but I have more respect for you now as a person. You made a mistake and you owned it. This takes courage and you have shown all of us that you are courageous.
“As humans, we must make mistakes. Only God is perfect. My prayer every day is that I don't make a mistake that will cost me my life or reputation. You have made yours and the whole world has seen. Thankfully, it didn't cost you your life or anyone else's,” he stated.
Don Jazzy added that Funke Akindele's mistake may have damaged her reputation but he believes she has already restored it.
He added that the actress has already paid the price for her actions; hence she needs not be ashamed.
