A leader of a- five -man robbery gang,Aliu Nasim has been apprehended by the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS unit of the Kogi State Police Command.

Nasim who has been on the police list for months confessed that he operates with a mystical charm which he got from a magical tortoise. He claimed he consults the tortoise before any operation and sometimes, he takes the tortoise along for his robbery operation.

He further expressed his dismay as to why the security operatives were able to arrest him haven operated with the magical tortoise about 12 times.

In his words,''I am a leader of a robbery gang which robbed on major highways in Kogi and Edo States.

“We have operated more than 12 times successfully without being caught and the success of these robberies was as a result of the protection of this tortoise,” he added.

“Anytime I wanted to go for robbery operation, I would consult the tortoise who will tell me whether the robbery would be successful or not. After saying some incantations to it, the tortoise would speak and tell me to go or not to go.

''In serious operations, I would hang the tortoise on my chest, covering it with my shirt and anytime I did that, it helped to protect me from bullets. No enemy's bullets can hit me any time I hang it on my chest, he said.

He, however admitted that the tortoise failed to alert him about the presence of the police around his house before he was arrested.He also said he now believe in the adage that everyday is for the thief but one day is for the owner.
