Five Things You Missed At Laffmattazz - Ilorin Edition

By Nollywood Gists

Last weekend, Gbenga Adeyinka and his friends took the Laffmattazz train to Ilorin to celebrate Ileya, and bring happiness to the people of Ilorin. The show which sold out Arca Santa Arena gave fans eight hours of entertainment from top music acts and some of Nigeria’s funniest people.

The ace comedian, has for six years with Maltina’s support, spread laughter across cities in Western Nigeria, and with the “Loud in Ilorin” show, it got even better.

Here are six things you missed:

All through the event, there were zero dull moments as each comedy performance seemed to match or surpass the one before it. MC Lively, who created the Barrister Mike persona on Instagram was the first comedy act of the day and set the tone for what fans were to expect from the rest of the comedians that followed. There were solid jokes and brilliant stage gimmicks from the likes of Helen Paul, Baba Ijesha, Princess, Omo Baba and more.

Just like the last time LaffMattazz came to Akure, Maltina gave fans a chance to partake in various activities for a chance to win prizes. There was a Maltina beauty pageant and the winner of the pageant went home with N30,000. There was also an opportunity for some members of the audience to try out stand-up comedy. The grand winner of the stand up contest went home with N150,000.

When Terry G got on stage, everyone was so excited to see him. Given the number of hit songs he has had over the years, he decided to take things a little backward, starting off with Akpako Master, much to the delight of the crowd who sang word for word. This seemed the theme for the night as Eedris Abdul Kareem had done the same with “Jaga Jaga”, even inviting a fan to share the stage with him.

Performers in Nigeria are getting more innovative with their stage entrances and show headliner - Gbenga Adeyinka didn’t fail to give fans something to talk about. He made a royal entrance much to the admiration of the audience, who were chanting all through his performance.

Everyone at the show got a taste of the Maltina goodness and enjoyed some of the other engagement opportunities the brand provided all through the event. The Maltina dart game spot, laughter box, and photo booth were beehives as fans played for free drinks, exciting prizes and fun memories.

With top VIPs in attendance and a fully sold-out venue, Gbenga Adeyinka’s Laffmattazz with Maltina was a complete success.

The train moves to Ekiti in October for yet another exciting edition.
