Former contestant of the West African Idol, Eric Arubayi, is dead after a brief illness at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital.

Eric who was the 3rd runner up at the maiden edition of the reality TV show which saw singer, Timi Dakolo, emerging the winner, was said to have been sick during the week and was rushed to the hospital where he eventually died.

The singer is survived by his wife of three years, Chinonso, and a child. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
