Mary J. Blige’s Ex-Husband Request For Spousal Support After 12 Years Of Failed Marriage
Just a few months after Mary J. Blige announced her split from longtime husband, Martin Kendu Isaacs, new divorce docs reveal her ex is vying for spousal support.
According to TMZ, the development is especially concerning since the entertainer requested Martin not receive any cash back in June. Issacs’ September 14 filing leads to believing that this disagreement will play out in a contentious court battle.
In addition to the spousal support request, the ex also wants Blige to pay his attorney fees.
Obviously, M.J.B. $45 million dollar fortune far outweighs Martin’s net worth.
Considering the two were married for twelve years, California law could however award the ex-manager an unlimited duration of spousal support. This rule doesn’t apply to marriages of ten years or less.
As for why the duo split in the first place, a source close to them revealed: “Kendu got used to the good life with her and thought he was a star too. They had huge fights behind closed doors over the years. … She just had enough.”
